Cheap Trick’s Rick Nielsen will be honored with a massive statue at a new Hard Rock Casino set to open outside of Chicago in his hometown of Rockford, Illinois.

Set to open on August 29, Rockford, IL’s Hard Rock Casino will feature a giant, more than 62-foot replica of Rick Nielsen’s iconic, checkerboard Hamer Standard guitar gracing the casino's entrance, while the side of the building will feature the classic Cheap Trick lyric, “I Want You to Want Me.”

The all-new, state-of-the-art Hard Rock Casino Rockford will be located at 7801 E. State Street, off I-90, featuring a 2,000-person capacity performance venue and 175,000 square feet of gaming. Take a look at an official rendering of the planned venue below.

Cheap Trick is currently on the road with headliners Def Leppard and Journey, trading off opening duties with Steve Miller Band. Tickets are on sale now.
