A very rare and unreleased recording of John Lennon speaking with journalists in Denmark in January of 1970 has gone up for auction fetching close to $58,000. But it’s not just his speaking voice that brought in so much dough – included on the 33-minute cassette is an unreleased song.
The recording was auctioned off by four Danish men who met and interviewed Lennon when they were teens while the Beatle was in town visiting with his wife Yoko Ono’s daughter Kyoko, who was living with her father in the country.

The precious audio recording, which sold on September 28 for close to $58,000, includes a number of songs Lennon performed acoustically after their interview, including an unreleased track called “Radio Peace.”
The conversation with the teens tackles topics close to Lennon's heart, including his and Yoko's Peace campaign, The Beatles, and of course, Lennon’s hair. Packaged with the cassette auction were also a number of photos of Lennon and Yoko with their interviewers.
