Maggie McKay has been on the air for the past 30 plus years in Southern California and is a native Angelino. Her favorite thing about working at the WAVE is the people she works with and the music! She says it's always a cheerful happy place to be ... for real! How many jobs can you say that about? Some of her favorite WAVE artists are Al Green, Aretha (of course!), Eric Clapton and Stevie Wonder. When she's not on the air she loves taking trips with her teenage son, and husband, baking, working out with Bootcamp L.A., doing anything at the beach, especially walk/run on the bikepath or boogie boarding. She also LOVES her dog Hercules.
Maggie is also a news anchor at our sister station KNX 1070 and has worked on the
Wave for close to ten years total: once after being on the air at Arrow 93 for eight years and again after co-hosting a newstalk show on KFWB News 980. She talks to schools local
schools on career day about her passion for radio, has been involved with two different literacy programs for young school children getting them interested in books and reading, she was on the Speakers Bureau for Heal the Bay for six years educating people about how to take better care of the ocean and currently loves interviewing people like Annie Liebovitz, Martha Stewart and Vin Scully for the SpeakersLA series. Before radio Maggie was a photographer after graduating from USC, but ultimately knew radio was her first love but she still loves to shoot, and go to gallery openings and loves the Annenberg Space for Photography.
