The Pan African Film Festival is happening now through May 1st here in LA. It’s the largest festival of its kind in the country and a highly anticipated annual event that had to go virtual during the pandemic but returns in a hybrid form this year both online and at the Baldwin Hills Crenshaw Plaza. One of the most talked-about film offerings this year is the biopic Remember Me: The Mahalia Jackson Story which tells the true story of the Queen of Gospel. R&B and jazz singer, songwriter, actress, and 12-time Grammy nominee Ledisi plays the legendary gospel singer. She joined us on the morning show to talk about the film and the important things she learned about Mahalia. Listen in and be sure to check out Remember Me: The Mahalia Jackson Story along with the hundreds of other films being shown at the 2022 Pan African Film Festival. For more info visit HERE.
