If you never heard of Velma Grant, Paul Williams, Bruce's Beach or Monroe Trotter or if you've heard of them but want to know more, listen in to my conversation with local historian Robert Johnson. He is the author of "Notable Southern Californians in Black History" and "Compton", part of the Images of America Collection. Robert was also a consultant for the award winning documentary "Fire On The Hill" and is a founding member of the Compton 125 Historical Society.

This weekend they're presenting their 4th annual South Bay History Day on Saturday November 14th from 9:30am until 1:30pm. Like everything else these days it's virtual so you can watch with the family in the comfort of your home. Click HERE for details.
