A grieving family got a heartwarming surprise from the Santa Ana Police Department Wednesday, following the accidental death of their baby boy Isaias.

The nearly one-year-old boy died on Sept. 4, when he fell three stories out of the family’s bedroom window, ABC7 reported. Both parents were home and the SAPD ruled the death an accident.

Wednesday, officers presented the Isaias’ family with a check for more than $1,000 to help them during this difficult time.

The baby boy's parents told ABC 7 they are grateful for the gift and that they plan to use the money for their children and will put some of it toward a Dia de Los Muertos altar for Isaias in November.
