Sierra Vista High School coach arrested and fired for alleged sexual misconduct

BALDWIN PARK, Calif. – A coach at a Baldwin Park high school was arrested and fired Thursday after he was accused of sexually assaulting a minor.

Jase Puga, 20, faces multiple charges, including meeting with a minor for a lewd purpose, oral copulation and statutory rape, according to Baldwin Police.

Puga is no longer allowed on or near Baldwin Park Unified campuses, officials said.

Police said staff at Sierra Vista High School contacted officers upon hearing the allegations, and that the Baldwin Park Unified School District was working closely with authorities during the investigation.

A letter was sent to parents by the school district regarding the allegations, KTLA reported. Puga was reportedly not identified in the letter.
