Investigators say one of the suspects in the Chino Hills kidnapping used to work with the victim.
According to the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department, Zhengfeng Bo, one of the suspects, and the victim, Shukur Aikebaer, “knew each other through a prior working relationship.”
On Wednesday night, deputies say 60-year-old Aikebaer was looking into what caused a power interruption in his home when 67-year-old Bo, and 66-year-old Jianquan Bo shot and kidnapped him.
When deputies arrived to him following reports of gunshots and screaming, they found Zhengfeng’s car and tried to perform a traffic stop; however, the suspect’s car took off, and a chase ensued.
When the chase ended, that’s when deputies say Zhengfeng got out of the car, exited the vehicle, approached the trunk of the vehicle, and fired a shot into Aikebaer, who was inside the trunk.
Zhengfeng was then shot and killed by deputies. Aikebaer was also pronounced dead at the scene.
The case remains under investigation.
