A man was shot and killed by a California Highway Patrol officer on Interstate 105 at Wilmington Ave. on Sunday.

At 3:16 PM, CHP received multiple calls of a man walking on the westbound 105.

A report by CHP revealed that a struggle ensued between a CHP officer and the man and led to an officer-involved shooting.

The man was pronounced dead at the hospital, according to the Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner. Neither the man nor the CHP officer have been identified as of Monday morning.

Westbound lanes at I-105 were closed for several hours for the investigation.
The lanes reopened at 1:30 a.m. Monday.

California Attorney General Rob Bonta announced that the California Department of Justice is investigating the shooting.
