Plenty of travelers rack up a lot of miles flying for business, visiting family or adventuring around the globe, but a few passengers go far beyond that, literally.
For the second year in a row, Delta Airlines has recognized some of its most well-traveled Delta Medallion members with their annual Milestone Awards.
Between categories for most miles, most new places visited, and most generous flyer, the awards highlight Delta passengers who set serious travel goals for the rest of us.
Here are a few of the top winners of the Delta 2019 Milestone Awards.
Top Miler: Todd. O (San Diego)
This intrepid inhabitant of Zurich logged quite a few flights back and forth between California and Switzerland, ultimately yielding him 455,186 miles in a single year.
The winner of the top prize in the Marathoners category, he told Delta, "I get bored staying in one place, so travel allows me to experience different environments, cultures and people within a short time span."
With nearly half a million miles in 2019 alone, Todd certainly got to see a lot pretty quickly.
The Globe Trotter: Juan V. (Atlanta)
Among the Explorers category, Juan took home the top spot for the most countries visited with Delta in a single year with 21.
This is Juan's second time winning the award, and he even outdid his record from last year.
The First Flyers Club Captain: Stephen H. (New York)
Even as the airline pushes into new territory and brings on new planes to service its customers, Stephen H. is right there are the forefront.
The Delta member flew on more new planes in 2019 than any other passenger, adding miles to his total during an anniversary trip to Italy and a globetrotting venture over to Hanoi.
The Go Gifter: Rick P. (South Carolina)
Most people collect miles to spend them on trips for themselves, but Rick P. donated a million miles to the SkyWish charity, helping veterans connect with loved ones while receiving care.
The Ultimate Road Warrior & The Agile Aviator: Brandon H. (Seattle)
Brandon won not one but two awards for his rapid booking and constant flying. The Delta champ took 148 business trips in a single year and even booked 125 last-minute trips, hopping on a plane wherever he was to get wherever he was needed.
Operational Ace: Andre H. (New York)
Runway workers don't get nearly enough love, so it's great to see everyone recognize Andre for his work on the ground helping flights depart from NYC. Reliable, professional and friendly, the man proves what it means to be #DeltaProud.
