ANAHEIM, Calif. (KNX) Disneyland is retiring its FastPass program on Wednesday for the new Genie and Genie+ services at the park, which will be built right into the Disneyland app.

“The Disney Genie service offers new features to help you create your best Disney day. With the Disneyland app, be sure to download the latest version and make sure that your notification and location services are turned on so you can get the most out of the app’s features,” Disney said in a statement.

Free features include a personalized itinerary creator to help guests make the most of their time at the park and forecasted attraction wait times to help predict the best times to visit attractions throughout the day.

“These features are created to help you spend less time waiting in line, so you can enjoy more of what you love,” Disney said.

“What’s more, Disney Genie service even works around your existing plans, like dining reservations!”

The "Lightning Lane" and "Genie+" explained
If you've been to the park recently, you've likely noticed some new signage. The Lightning Lanes at a number of popular rides — like the Grizzly River Run — are the new way to save time while enjoying the park during your visit. There are two ways to access.

1. Disney Genie+ is available for $20 per ticket, per day and allows visitors to open the app and select the next available arrival window for a ride's Lightning Lane entrance. Genie+ can be purchased in the app and will be linked to the park ticket. After Wednesday it can also be purchased online when buying park tickets.

2. Individual Lightning Lane entrance offers guests an "a la carte" option to enter the Lightning Lane of Disneyland's most popular attractions - like Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance and WEB SLINGERS: A Spider-Man Adventure.

"If you choose this option, you may purchase the next available arrival window, one at a time, for up to two attractions per day upon entering a theme park," Disney said.
