Our KNX Hero of the Week Megan Lee is leading our youngest minds towards greatness!
Named as one of the 2026 Orange County Teachers of the Year, Lee uses multi-sensory activities in her classroom at Loera Elementary to help her students learn quickly and to keep them engaged.
“I am blessed to have them for a full school day, and so it's my 20 kids that I have all day,” she told Heroes host Heather Jordan. “We're working on the social emotional skills. We're working on those independent skills. How do you open your lunch box by yourself?”
She said she’s helping her students to model asking for help, adding that it’s important for students to have those skills in order to make them feel confident about their learning.
“I mean, who doesn't want to feel like they're successful at school, especially?” she said.
Lee also emphasized the importance of believing in students.
“You know, we are here to feel the light that they have because every kid has so much potential and as teachers, if we can continue to feel that flame and inspire them to be whoever they're going to be, there's just so [much] good that we can do,” she said. “Especially nowadays in this world.”
