Lindsey Graham offers olive branch to Democrats

Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.) offered an olive branch on election night to his “Democratic friends” after former President Donald Trump secured the necessary votes to take back the White House.

“Take a deep breath,” Graham wrote in a post on X. “The sun will rise. The world will turn and despite what Oprah says, we will have another election.”

The post from Graham, who has been a staunch supporter of the former president, was one of several he made as the election results rolled in.

Graham addressed his “Republican friends and colleagues” in another post, saying they should “Get ready to govern and turn the country around.”

To his Democratic colleagues, Graham offered to work with them so they can “improve the country.”

“Our best days are ahead,” Graham wrote. “You will be amazed how much President Trump wants to do big things, working together.”

While the South Carolina Sen. appeared to be offering an olive branch to those across the aisle, not everyone seemed willing to accept, as his replies were filled with critics saying he enabled Trump.

As things sit, Trump has secured the necessary 270 votes to win the White House, Republicans have gained 3 seats in the Senate, and the House remains up in the air, though Republicans appear poised to gain the majority there as well.
