The winner of eight 2019 Tony Awards is at the Ahmanson and just happened to be the highest grossing show for Center Theatre Group, last season, not to mention the most honored show of the 2018-2019 Broadway season. Matthew Patrick Quinn plays Satan and does it so well, he joined me to talk about the significance of Hadestown now and how relatable it is, what the most challenging thing about performing 8 shows a week is, and how it marks the first time in over a decade that a woman (Anais Mitchell) has been the solo author of a musical: writing the music, lyrics and book.
