A brand-new musical from the creators of the Amazon Series “Transparent” is now playing at the Mark Taper Forum until June 25th so you still have time to get there. "A Transparent Musical” makes its world premiere in L.A. with the production based on the hit Amazon Prime original TV show by Joey Soloway.
Since June is Pride Month it makes this play even more timely. It's about self discovery, family secrets, acceptance and navigating relationships. Daya Curley plays Maura in "A Transparent Musical". She talks with me about what it means to her personally to play Maura, the parent transitioning to a transgender matriarch. She also talks about her own journey, what she hopes audiences take away from the musical, the uniqueness of the set at the Mark Taper for this show specifically and much more.
