In a horrifying scene, a man set himself on fire outside Donald Trump's hush money trial in New York City in front of onlookers.

Firefighters were caught on video dousing the flames, which you can see here on Twitter, but note that the scene is very graphic.

The man's identity was not immediately known, nor was his condition or the the reason behind the act. The man was rushed to a nearby hospital.

CNN reported that he 'walked into the park across the street from the courthouse, throwing flyers into the air, a senior law enforcement official told CNN. He then pulled something out of a backpack — it was not immediately clear what the item was — and lit himself on fire.'

This happened just as the jury was finalized in the hush money trial of the former president, a trial that is expected to begin on Monday.

The case alleges that Trump falsified business records for a $130,000 hush-money payment to adult film star Stormy Daniels. He has pleaded not guilty.
