A 56-year-old pedestrian was killed when he was struck by a vehicle Wednesday in a hit-and-run crash in Chinatown.
Officers from the Los Angeles Police Department's Central Division were called at 2:30 a.m. to the 600 block of North Broadway between Hill and Spring streets, where they found the man in the street, an LAPD spokesman told City News Service.

Witnesses told police the vehicle was driving north on Broadway when it struck the victim and did not stop to render aid.
Los Angeles Fire Department personnel responded to the scene and pronounced the victim dead.
