After six years of planning and construction, the Goldrich Cultural Center is about to open in Los Angeles’ Mid-City district.

While the center will open to the public in August, a ribbon-cutting ceremony was held on Thursday.

The center includes a performing arts center and an expanded Holocaust Museum.

“The Goldrich Cultural Center stands as a prominent new landmark that will change the landscape of this city,” Guy Lipa, the center’s board chair, said. “ A space for community to come together for meaningful education, powerful exhibitions, captivating arts, and enriching cultural programs that foster dialogue, create connection, and build a sense of togetherness.”

Lipa also said the center provides a Los Angeles-centric “historical exploration center.”

“Foundation and bedrock to ensure the universal lessons of the Holocaust and the legacies of survivors will exist in perpetuity and to continue to thrive for generations to come,” he said. “This expansion has really been a passion and labor of love for me and for so many people over such a long period of time. I'm thrilled to share this special moment with all of you, especially with the survivors and the families in our community.

The center is located at 100 The Grove Dr.
