SEAL BEACH (CNS) - Seal Beach police have arrested a suspect in connection with the Aug. 31 theft of nearly $74,000 worth of jewelry from a Kohl's department store on Seal Beach Boulevard, officials said.

Brandon Libardo Bustos-Bermudez, 30, of Riverside was arrested Friday after being detained during a robbery investigation at a Kohl's department store in Chino, Seal Beach police said in a statement late Saturday.
Bustos-Bermudez was later transported to the Orange County Jail and booked on charges of burglary, grand theft, and conspiracy to a commit a crime.
The Chino Police Department responded at 4:30 p.m. Friday to the Kohl's at 4093 Grand Ave. where a store loss prevention officer observed several suspects inside the store and detained them for suspicious activity.
The store officer later recognized one of the suspects from a "Be On the Look Out" advisory distributed to Kohl's stores throughout the region after the Aug. 31 commercial burglary in Seal Beach.
Police detectives in Seal Beach were notified and upon arrival at the Kohl's in Chino they confirmed the suspect's alleged involvement in the Seal Beach jewelry theft, placed him under arrest and transported Bustos-Bermudez to the Seal Beach Police Department.
"During a Miranda interview, he admitted involvement in the commercial burglary in Seal Beach on August 31st and confirmed he was one of the suspects depicted on the Seal Beach Kohl's surveillance footage," Seal Beach police Lt. Julia Clasby said in a statement late Saturday.
The Seal Beach jewelry theft was reported Sept. 1 by the Kohl's at 12345 Seal Beach Blvd. where surveillance cameras captured the commercial burglary and provided a detailed description of the suspects.
The video showed three male suspects working together to steal approximately $73,877 in gold jewelry from the store.
