A stray cat in Porter Ranch came to the rescue of another cat that was being chased by a coyote.
It happened early Sunday morning in Teri Garcia’s yard, where her husband went out to find a coyote in the middle of their street.
When the Garcias checked their security camera, they saw a grey cat dart away from the coyote, while a black and white cat chased the coyote not far behind.
“It’s so amazing how the cats are buddies,” Teri said. “LikeI'm gonna fight you for my friend.’ It's just so wild.”
The Garcias have three cats of their own; they stay indoors, but Teri told KNX News’ Emily Valdez that she was worried about the two cats outside.
“I looked for the black and white cat, and it came out, and it looked like it was so scared, poor thing,” she said, “And then I fed it; then the other gray cat came out, and they hung out in my backyard for a while.”
She called the Department of Fish and Wildlife, which suggested that she put vinegar around her house to deter other coyotes from coming around the property.
She says the kitties have been lying low, hiding in her backyard and under her RV.
