Two children killed after being ejected from car in Menifee crash

A car crash reported in Menifee has resulted in the death of two children.

The collision occurred on Thursday at around 5:20 p.m. between Laguna Vista Drive and Leon Road on Domenigoni Parkway, according to the Menifee Police Department.

Both children died as a result of being ejected from the vehicle upon impact.

Menifee Police Capt. Dave Gutierrez told mynewsLA 18-year-old Logan Shell was going west on the parkway when he reportedly veered into the westbound lane and hit a Chevrolet Silverado that was pulling a trailer.

“As a result of the collision, the Chevrolet lost control, crossed over the center divider and rolled onto its side, where the two juveniles, ages 1 and 16, were ejected from the cab of the truck,” Gutierrez told the news outlet.

The children were pronounced dead on the scene, while the other passengers in the car sustained minor injuries.

Shell was arrested and booked into Byrd Detention Center in Riverside County.
