The Middle Ages had Nostradamus. The 80's had Miss Cleo. In 2022, we turn to the creators of "The Simpsons" for a glimpse into the future. Viewers have marveled as the animated TV show has seemingly predicted events as wide-ranging as Donald Trump running for president, the COVID-19 pandemic, the Bengals winning the 2022 Super Bowl, and Russia invading Ukraine. So how do they do it? We may soon find out. Showrunner Matt Selman told "Deadline" that the newest season of the show will reveal just how "The Simpsons" nails future events. "We have another crazy conceptual episode that explains how 'The Simpsons' (knows) the future. It's a conceptual episode with lots of crazy stuff in it, but it does give an explanation of how 'The Simpsons' can predict the future." Fox has announced that the new season of "The Simpsons" - its 34th - will premiere Sunday, Sept. 25. Expect a few glimpses into the future - but unfortunately, no Powerball numbers.
Yesterday began with Los Angeles Police investigating Anne Heche for felony DUI – as cocaine and fentanyl were reported in her system at the time of the crash. While the fentanyl could have been administered surrounding her care, the same cannot be said about the cocaine. Still, it may not matter as Heche's representative is revealing the actress suffered a severe brain injury and is not expected to live. In a coma with severe burns and lung injury since shortly after the crash a week ago, Heche's rep says she's being kept on life support to determine if any of her organs are viable for donation. Meanwhile, the investigation into the crash and what Heche had in her system continues. "In preliminary testing, the blood draw revealed the presence of drugs," Los Angeles police said in a statement, adding that police could not "comment right now on presence of cocaine, fentanyl or alcohol at this time… that will be determined by the second test." Ben Affleck, who battled the glare of paparazzi during his first relationship with Jennifer Lopez, struggled with the number of snappers trailing them on their honeymoon, a source tells "Page Six." "Ben was a little freaked out in Paris," says the source. "This was a whole new level." Adding, "an almost Princess-Diana level." Back in 2002 the photogenic couple faced unprecedented media attention. They even had to postpone their first planned wedding in 2003 after they were forced to go so far as to consider having "decoy brides" on their doomed big day. In a statement released the day before the original nuptials, they said, "Due to the excessive media attention surrounding our wedding, we have decided to postpone the date." (And, of course, they never rescheduled that particular wedding.)
Melissa and Joe Gorga decided not to attend Teresa Giudice's wedding to Luis "Louie" Ruelas after their years-long feud became "too toxic." "Sometimes when things are too toxic and you try over and over and over again and it just keeps coming back around to the same thing … even if it's family, you have to let it go," Melissa, 43, said on her "On Display" podcast Thursday. The "Real Housewives of New Jersey" star also said the public does not yet know the full truth about why she and Joe, 42, decided to skip his sister's lavish nuptials in New Jersey — alluding to issues with Giudice's new husband. "[There were] past altercations with Louie that we've never talked about and that we've decided to kind of push under the rug because we want Teresa to be happy," Melissa added."There's things that we stay zipped about because we want her to be happy and have a good life."
On "iCarly," they played best friends, web show hosts and polar opposites. In real life, though, Jennette McCurdy and Miranda Cosgrove are still close, even if they're no longer castmates. Ahead of the release of her memoir, "I'm Glad My Mom Died," McCurdy reflected on her yearslong friendship with Cosgrove, with whom she starred on the Nickelodeon sitcom from 2007 to 2012. "I love Miranda to pieces," McCurdy, who played the surly sidekick Sam on "iCarly," told "Entertainment Tonight" this week. "I always will. She has such a special place in my heart. She helped me grow as a person and heal as a person, and I hope I did the same for her. I just love her so much." McCurdy's new memoir details her years as a child actor on Nickelodeon and the alleged abuse she faced at the hands of her late mother. While her time on set was often negative, McCurdy credited Cosgrove, who had previously starred on the sitcom "Drake and Josh," for keeping her afloat.

Please don't quit your jobs because of me! Find something you love doing, THEN quit!"
Bethenny Frankel took a shot at Kim Kardashian's skin care line. Bethenny recently posted a video on "YouTube" where she ripped the price and packaging of some of Kim's skin care items. "So I bought these two products: the exfoliator and the under eye product. This is an eye cream. It is bulbous. I don't understand it. It doesn't even have a flat bottom, so it's effectively like an egg. I guess it has a tiny, little flat bottom, but that's impractical at best. This is crazy. How are you gonna travel with this? You have to be a billionaire to use this product. Oh, my God, it's a Rubik's Cube! Open up the Rubik's Cube and its skincare. Is it worth the money they're charging? Unlikely. And as far as the eye cream, luxurious product. Very nice. Like a melted butter consistency. But not, like, ultra rich. I would feel like, for this price tag, it would be Sicily rich."
