We've all heard the story about how Molly Ringwald was supposed to play the role of Vivian in "Pretty Woman" that ultimately went to Julia Roberts, but Julia admits there were some pretty high-profile roles she passes on as well. She clarified on "Watch What Happens Live With Andy Cohen," "Well, none that I have regrets about," adding, "But what have I passed on that went on to be great and wonderful, and I thought it maybe wouldn't have been as great and wonderful with me? 'You've Got Mail.'" That went to Meg Ryan. In an interesting twist, Meg was originally supposed to have Julia's role as Shelby in "Steel Magnolias," but Meg was busy filming "When Harry Met Sally," so the role went to Julia. Julia also was in the running for the lead in "Last of the Mohicans," but she did get the role in "Closer" because Cate Blanchett got pregnant.
Kevin Costner is apparently rebounding after his split from Christine Baumgartner… with singer Jewel! TMZ has some pics of the two of them getting cozy on Richard Branson's Necker Island in the British Virgin Islands for a tennis fundraiser for the Inspiring Children Foundation. Jewel is the founder of the organization, and Kevin was a guest. Apparently, the two hung out together a lot for more than a week.
Taylor Swift is just out here breaking more records! On Friday, Pollstar announced that her "Eras Tour" is the highest-grossing tour ever, and the first tour to crack the $1 billion mark. She's accomplished this in just eight months, playing 60 shows, and selling over 4.3 million tickets. These totals don't even include the revenue from "The Eras Tour" film, which reportedly brought in $250 million, or merchandise sold during the tour, which is another estimated $200 million.
The "Honey Boo Boo" family is mourning the loss of Mama June's oldest daughter, Anna "Chickadee" Cardwell, who was battling cancer. The 29-year-old lost her fight with stage 4 adrenal carcinoma. Mama June shared the loss on Instagram, writing, "With the breaking heart, we are announcing that (Chickadee) is no longer with us. She passed away in my home late last night peacefully at 11:12 pm" after she "gave one hell of a fight for 10 months."
Jada Pinkett Smith revealed in an interview with The Daily Mail that Will Smith slapping Chris Rock at the Oscars in 2022 had a positive impact on her marriage. Even though Will Smith's career took a hit after the "slap heard 'round the world," Jada said she had been questioning the state of their marriage for years, but the slap made it clear that she would never leave him.
She called the incident the "holy slap" and believes that many positive things happened as a result, saying, "That moment of the s*** hitting the fan is when you see where you really are."
Keanu Reeves' home was broken into again. Burglars in ski masks smashed a window, got in, and took a gun from the home. It's unclear if anything else was taken, but Keanu was not home at the time. What's odd is that there was a call to police around 7pm, they came by to check things out, and then the break-in was reported at 1am. You might recall a woman was previously arrested for coming onto the property and skinny dipping, while another was taken in after Keanu found her sleeping in a chair in his library. I'm glad I can at least show restraint and love him from afar because prison orange just doesn't suit me.
