Paula Abdul has settled out of court in her sexual assault lawsuit against "American Idol," but her sexual assault and battery suit against producer Nigel Lythgoe is set to go to trial in July 2025. Paula has accused him of assaulting her twice, the first time in a hotel elevator in the early 2000s and the second at his home in Los Angeles. Nigel has denied the charges but has since been named in three suits with similar claims filed by anonymous women.
Movie producer Harvey Weinstein will face a new trial for his sexual assault allegations. His 2020 conviction was overturned by a judge last month because of mistakes in the handling of testimony about prior sexual acts from other women not involved in the case. His chief attorney, Arthur Aidala, said they look forward to a speedy trial.
