Kim Kardashian wowed wearing Marilyn Monroe's iconic dress to the Met Gala on Monday night, but not everyone was impressed. Some found it tacky and exploitative to be wearing the dress on the 60th anniversary of Marilyn's death. Piers Morgan had one word – "desecration." Others, like Michelle Morgan (author of "The Girl: Marilyn Monroe, the Seven Year Itch, and the Birth of an Unlikely Feminist") and Nina Boski (the producer of the "Marilyn: Behind the Icon" TV docuseries and podcast), were among those who felt like Marilyn should have been the only one to wear it. On top of that, they were concerned about damage from sweat or makeup. But a representative from Orlando's Ripley's Believe It or Not! Museum (the ones who own the dress) said, "Kim Kardashian has continued to show the utmost respect for this opportunity and historic garment. From extensive research to following guidelines such as no body makeup, only wearing the dress for the short red-carpet appearance, and making absolutely no alterations, she has become a steward — and added to — its history." The museum also insisted that no damage had occurred to the dress, according to the New York Post.
