Britney Spears' dad required blood tests from her dates

As Britney Spears celebrates the release of her book, her first hit, "…Baby One More Time," turns 25 this week. It spent 103 weeks on the Billboard 200 charts. But did you know that the song was reportedly turned down by The Backstreet Boys, TLC, and Robyn before being offered to Britney Spears? TLC apparently turned it down as they were uncomfortable with the "hit me" lyric, interpreting it as referring to domestic violence.

As for Brit's new book, she talked about just how much control her dad had over her when it came to dating. She said, "When someone wanted to date me, the security team who answered to my father would run a background check on him, make him sign an NDA and even have him submit to a blood test." On top of that, her dad's team "would tell the man my medical and sexual history. To be clear: this was before the first date." She added, "The whole thing was humiliating, and I know the insanity of this system kept me from finding basic companionship, having a fun night out, or making new friends — let alone falling in love."

Singer Bret Michaels from Poison has adopted a dog named Bret Michaels. He said, "I could not have been more touched and more honored to adopt Bret Michaels the husky, knowing that he gave blood to save the life of a kitten," adding, "I could not work fast enough to adopt this husky and extend the awesome quality of little Bret Jr.'s life." Bret, a six-year-old dog donated his blood to a kitten suffering from flea anemia. Bret lost his 14-year-old German shepherd, Phoenix, earlier this year, so it sounds like Bret Jr. was meant to come into his life.

Ready for some 90s vibes? Frances Bean Cobain, the daughter of Kurt Cobain and Courtney Love is now married to skateboard legend Tony Hawk's son, Riley Hawk. They got married October 7th in a ceremony officiated by R.E.M. lead singer Michael Stipe.

By now, you probably saw the special handshake that Taylor Swift and Brittany Mahomes did after Patrick Mahomes threw to Travis Kelce to score a second quarter touchdown. Lots of people took to social media sharing that they found the moment to be "cringe." Other thoughts include that "this is publicity stunt" and that this is the "worst thing ever to happen to the NFL." Regardless of the negative chatter, the whole "Traylor" thing has been working wonders for ratings. CBS pulled in its largest-watched single week seven game in over ten years - over 24 million viewers - thanks to Taylor's presence. People either love her or love to hate her, but either way, it's good for business.
