Remember the great bathing debate from the summer? Ashton Kutcher, Mila Kunis, and Jake Gyllenhaal were among the celebrities who said that daily showers weren't necessarily on their agendas. While it was later revealed to be some sort of joke, the question has lingered into the fall. Jake's hygiene routine came up during a Q&A for his new Netflix movie, "The Guilty." He jokingly said, "By the way I [filmed] an independent film, of course I don't shower. What are you writing about? Of course we don't have the money for showers. 'I think, by the way, anyone who's used a trailer, has the shower ever really worked? They don't work in trailers, the sinks barely do." On a more serious note, Gyllenhaal said, "I don't know what it was, it was an answer to a question where I was being sarcastic and ironic, and it's followed me around… Unfortunately I showered before I came here so I'm sorry about that." Nicole Kidman has no regrets about being an open book during her marriage to Tom Cruise. Speaking to "Harper's Bazaar" for her October cover issue, the actress admits she "offered up" a ton of information during the media frenzy around their marriage. But Kidman says she likes being "as open as possible," even if she's gotten hurt before. "I just prefer to live in the world that way. I much prefer a warm approach rather than a prickly shut-down approach," she notes. "My husband, Keith [Urban], says that when he met me, he said, 'how's your heart?' And I apparently responded, 'open.'" Kidman and Cruise were married from 1990 to 2001. In those 11 years, they adopted two children together, Isabella and Connor. One of the secrets to Kidman's "strong" marriage with Urban? As much "give and take" as there is love. "We're always working through stuff, but it's very much love based," she says. "I want him to have the best life he can have, and he responds the same way."

-He was asked how he feels about Taylor's beau Joe Alwyn, and while he hasn't met him, Shawn at first says he "looks like a sweet guy." But when the examiner says that answer is "deceptive," he admits, "I'm lying? A little bit?," adding, "Yeah, I mean, he's kind of got a little bit of a villain look about him." Shawn continues, "I mean, he looks like a nice guy - but he, at any movement, could turn into a villain," noting, "he has really blue eyes and I struggle with eyes that blue. I find it easier to trust brown eyes."
-Shawn infamously went with Hailey Baldwin, now Bieber, to the 2018 Met Gala, and Shawn insists he and Justin "Never talked about that" when they met. Shawn has always been a big Bieber fan and admits he was nervous to meet Justin, adding he "probably had some face twitching" at their first meeting.
-And when talking about girlfriend Camila Cabello, Shawn said he was initially "friend zoned" by her, and even admits he has lied to her, although he does say he is "pretty bad" at lying in general.

"Grey's Anatomy" fans haven't forgotten Katherine Heigl, or her controversial exit from the medical drama. Now, 11 years later, she's letting us in on her side of the story in Lynette Rice's "How To Save A Life: The Inside Story of Grey's Anatomy." In an excerpt shared by Australia's "Daily Telegraph," Heigl admits it "wasn't very nice or fair" to "ambush" the show's writers by withdrawing her name from Emmy consideration after her 2007 win for Outstanding Supporting Actress as Dr. Izzie Stevens in "Grey's." At the time, she told reporters he wanted to "maintain the integrity of the academy organization" by taking her name out of the hat, since she wasn't "given the material this season to warrant an Emmy nomination." Sounds a little harsh, but Heigl says she thought she was "doing the right thing." From there, she gained a reputation as being "difficult" to work with.
"Variety" reports that this year's PrimeTime Emmy Awards were more popular than last year's. The 73rd annual kudofest on CBS turned its ratings around, with viewership up 16-percent from last year. Before the pandemic, Emmys weren't looking good, plummeting to a historic drop-off in 2020 after 2019's hostless ceremony on Fox. And there's also a new record broken for the Emmys, and not one you would want. "People'' found that "The Handmaid's Tale" broke an interesting record at the Emmys this year. With a whopping 21 nominations, the Hulu drama walked away from the kudofest empty-handed… which means "The Handmaid's Tale" now holds the record for most losses in a single year. "Mad Men'' previously set the record in 2012, when the AMC series went zero for 17.
