Barbie's beating out all movies but Taylor could take over

Taylor Swift fans flocked to the AMC app to snatch up tickets as soon as the announcement went live that her "Eras Tour" was being turned into a movie. However, there was such a virtual stampede, the site crashed. AMC stayed ahead of any negative press by saying, "AMC is also aware that no ticketing system in history seems to have been able to accommodate the soaring demand from Taylor Swift fans when tickets are first placed on sale." They suggested fans get their tickets old-school style and physically go to AMC locations to get their tickets. According to a press release, every AMC Theatre in the US will run the "Eras Tour" movie at least four times per day on Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sundays, starting October 13th. The tickets will cost $19.89 plus tax for adults and $13.13 for children and seniors.

With yesterday's announcement that her "Eras" Tour is coming to theaters October 13, the horror film "The Exorcist: Believer," which was previously scheduled to be released that day, was moved up a week. Blumhouse Productions CEO Jason Blum Tweeted about the move, "Look what you made me do. The Exorcist: Believer moves to 10/6/23 #TaylorWins." Smart move: reports are that within hours of the announcement, Taylor's film took in over $10 million in presales - a month and a half out.

Oprah Winfrey and Dwayne Johnson have launched the People's Fund of Maui and the funds will go directly to those affected. The pair launched the fund with a $10 million donation. Residents who qualify can receive $1200 a month to assist them in rebuilding their lives.

Khloé Kardashian learned a lesson from her sister, Kylie, after Kylie decided to change her baby's name from Wolf to Aire, so when Khloé's son was born, she put his name on the birth certificate as "Baby Kardashian." The now-13-month-old is now legally Tatum Thompson, the name he's had this whole time as far as the family has been concerned.

50 Cent flipped out after being handed a non-working microphone, more than once, at his concert, so he chucked it out of frustration into the crowd and nailed a woman in the head. He wasn't aiming for her, but she got it good and ended up needing stitches.

"Barbie" will return to IMAX theaters with an additional post-credit scene, running for a single week, starting September 22nd. "Barbie" is on track to be the biggest movie of the year, currently just behind "The Super Mario Bros. Movie." It could claim the top movie spot with repeat viewers and higher IMAX prices. That's great news for "Barbie" – until October 13th rolls around.
