The hue is red and the vibe is love, and that goes for Lady Gaga’s newly dyed hair on the Joker press tour, the film itself, and of course her engagement to Michael Polansky, all of which were seen or discussed during her recent appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live.

While talking to Jimmy, Gaga detailed the story of how her entrepreneur soon to be hubby popped the question after the two went rock-climbing. “He proposed to me right after my birthday, so my birthday passed and I was like, ‘Well, I thought he was gonna propose …'” Gaga began to tell the late night show host and his audience.
“You climb rocks?” Jimmy curiously asked, “I do now,” Gaga admitted, cupping her hands around her mouth, suggesting her next comment was a secret between her and the crowd, while simultaneously showing off her enormous glittering diamond on her left ring finger. “I would do anything for love.”
LG went on to say that Polanksy waited until after they finished their climbing expedition (and asked permission first), before he officially asked her to marry him.
“We were just walking back to the room and talking,” she continued. “He actually — it was very Michael — asked me if he could ask me. He wanted to know if it was okay to propose before he proposed. And I was like, ‘Yes, it’s so okay!’”
“He had the ring in his backpack, so it was so super cute,” Gaga added, noting that Polansky didn’t traditionally get down on one knee to pop the question. “But you know what? I’m a modern lady. I like what he did.”
Kimmel then pressed the multi-talented multi-hyphenate about her wedding plans, which Gaga admitted she has conflicted feelings about. Revealing, “We actually talk a lot about just going to a courthouse just the two of us and ordering Chinese food,” she explained. “But knowing me, it could become like a circus with unicorns.” And while the former sounds *chefs kiss* pure perfection in our personal opinion, the latter definitely checks out more for someone who’s previously worn a bloody meat dress.
Gaga previously talked about her relationship with Polansky in an interview with Vogue, during which she revealed how her mom set them up before the couple’s first meeting at a mutual friend’s birthday party. That same month, the pair made their red carpet debut at the Venice International Film Festival, to promote Joker: Folie à Deux.
