Angelo Cataldi reacts to Andy Reid winning Super Bowl

Angelo Cataldi was the loudest voice in the Delaware Valley not rooting for former Eagles head coach Andy Reid in Super Bowl LIV.

On Sunday, the Chiefs beat the 49ers 31-20 and Reid won his first Super Bowl. On Monday morning, here's Catadi's reaction.

"I'd like to begin by making a statement and that statement is, that a lot of people are trolling me all over the area because I hate Andy Reid and let's make this no mistake starting out, I still can't stand the guy at all," Cataldi said at the top of Monday's 94WIP Morning Show.

"And Rhea is going to be with me today on this and that's the reason I know I have to do this. I am going to come across as a spoilsport. I am going to complain about stuff and about the way the game came out and people are gonna go, 'You're just trying to find excuses not to give Andy Reid credit.' But I am giving Andy Reid credit.

"He was a lot looser and lot more effective on the sidelines than he was 15 years ago," Cataldi said. "They knew what to do with the ball down 10 in the fourth quarter, which they did not know before. It was a direct indictment of McNabb because this kid Mahomes, at 24, knew exactly how to preserve the clock and get to the field. And he did it and they scored, and he made the biggest play of the game."

Cataldi played the highlight of the biggest play of the game, a deep pass from Patrick Mahomes to Tyreek Hill.

"Came down to one play, it's 20-10, it's 3rd-and-15. There's seven minutes left, you're up 10," Cataldi said.

Cataldi admitted he's going to do a lot more complaining throughout the show, but this is "classy" moment.

"This is where I act classy probably for another minute or two and then we're over," Cataldi said. "I shut it off. I shut it off, not that I slept great because I kept seeing Andy Reid eating a cheeseburger. I didn't want to see the rest. But I did look at it today, Andy Reid, to his credit I guess—this is how he wins fans in our city. He decided to share the Lombardi Trophy with us."

Cataldi then played this audio cut of Reid speaking postgame about Philadelphia.

"I loved my time in Philadelphia," Reid told reporters. "Phenomenal players there. We were so close so many times. My heart went out to those guys. If there was one thing that hurt, it was for the Lurie's and the players. This is a pure team effort. I'm happy for them, they have a little piece of all of this."
