The numbers White put up are simply mind boggling.
Arguably the most unstoppable defensive end in NFL history, White finished his first game with the team in 1985 with 10 tackles and 2.5 sacks, a sign of things to come. White finished with at least 11 sacks in each of his eight seasons with the Eagles. He finished with a whopping 21-sacks in just 12 games during the 1987. He finished with at least 14 sacks in four different seasons, topped 18 sacks three times and had three games with at least four sacks.
There aren’t many more impressive stats in all of sports than White finishing with more sacks (124) than games played (121) for the Eagles. That level of dominance might never be reached again, and really says it all considering White played during a time where opposing offenses didn’t throw the ball nearly as much as they do now.
Despite leaving as a free agent following the 1993 season, something that never should have happened, he is still remembered most for his time in Philadelphia. White easily belongs in the top three for GOAT of Broad Street.
