The results from the first day of Once and For All week are in, and after a full day of debate between hosts, callers and fans on social media, it has been decided that Eagles quarterback Donovan McNabb was underrated, not overrated:
Is Donovan McNabb overrated or underrated? #OnceAndForAll
— SPORTSRADIO 94WIP (@SportsRadioWIP) May 18, 2020As you can see, McNabb won by a fairly comfortable margin. That likely won't sit well with Angelo Cataldi. Cataldi not only wrote a column saying that booing McNabb when he was drafted in 1999 was one of the highlights of his career, but spent his show trying to convince his callers that the leading passer in franchise history was overrated:
Joe DeCamara and Jon Ritchie took a deep dive into McNabb's career, with Ritchie -- McNabb's former teammate -- explaining what it was like to play with No. 5:
Another one of McNabb's former teammates, Ike Reese, also came to his defense -- despite Jon Marks disagreeing:
Finally, Joe Giglio spent the evening defending McNabb, and highlighting just how much Carson Wentz will need to accomplish over the next five seasons to even come close to what McNabb did in his first nine years:
Now, once and for all, we can finally appreciate what McNabb did during his time with the Eagles, and stop overlooking his accomplishments just because he didn't bring the city a Super Bowl.
