The clock is now ticking for Zach Ertz and the Eagles.
That clock started this week when both San Francisco 49ers' George Kittle and Kansas City Chiefs' Travis Kelce signed record-breaking contracts for the tight end position. Kittle got a deal worth aaround $15 million per year, and Kelce came in right under at around $14.2 million. Ertz's average on his current deal? Around $8.4 million.
Meaning the question is when, not if, Ertz is going to need a new deal -- and whether the Eagles are going to give it to him.
In the latest episode of Go Birds Radio, every Saturday from 1-3 p.m. on SportsRadio 94WIP, James Seltzer and Eliot Shorr-Parks debate what the team should do with the Pro-Bowl tight end. Should they pay him a new deal now, make him wait a year for a new contract, or trade Ertz when his value is at an all-time high?
