There is no better or bigger sports community in Philadelphia than the hosts and listeners of 94WIP, and as anyone who has ever tuned in knows, one of the brightest personalities in that community is the one-and-only Big Daddy Graham.
Unfortunately, Big Daddy is currently dealing with some medical issues, something his daughter Ava Graham — a regular on the 94WIP morning show — talked about Friday morning with Angelo Cataldi:
"Thank you to my friends, fans and family for the tremendous outpouring of support," Big Daddy said. "Somebody bring me a jelly doughnut."
As everyone in the 94WIP community knows, Big Daddy is a true icon in Philadelphia sports.
On a personal note, listening to Big Daddy on a radio that was on the corner of my bed growing up was one of the main reasons I fell in love with Philadelphia sports and 94WIP (although it was 610 at the time). I can still remember hearing "When You're Smiling" open up his show night after night. Earlier this summer, when I hosted my first show on the station, I was lucky enough to do a crossover with Big Daddy, which was truly a dream come true.
There is no doubt that everyone who listens to the station has a similar story about Big Daddy. While he makes his recovery, feel free to tweet us your favorite Big Daddy stories or add them into the comment section, and we will make sure he gets to read them!
Get well soon and can't wait hear you back on the air Big Daddy!
