The Eagles decided to use their final pick in the 2019 NFL Draft on a veteran.
Instead of making a selection with 246th pick in the draft the Eagles traded it away to the Indianapolis Colts in exchange for defensive tackle Hassan Ridgeway.
Ridgeway, 24-years old, has been with the Colts for three seasons. He has appeared in 41 games with five starts since joining the Colts, totaling 18 tackles and 4.5 sacks. Ridgeway is 6-foot-3, 305 pounds and was a fourth-round pick by the Colts in the 2016 NFL Draft.
Ridgeway likely joins the Eagles on the roster bubble and will have to earn a spot on the team in training camp. Ridgeway has one year left on his contract and has a cap hit of just over $800,000.
This is the second defensive tackle the Eagles have acquired in the last three days, signing veteran defensive tackle Timmy Jernigan this past Thursday. The team now has Fletcher Cox, Malik Jackson, Treyvone Hester, Bruce Hector, Jernigan and Ridgeway on the roster at defensive tackle.
