Cuts are coming.
After what has been a pretty successful training camp, with plenty of standout players and very few serious injuries, Howie Roseman and the Eagles will begin the process of cutting their roster down from 90 players to 53 over the next few days. Final rosters are due to the league by 4 p.m. EST on Saturday.
A few reminders that could impact what the Eagles do before Saturday:
** Any player that isn't a veteran is subject to waivers
** The Eagles get 10 practice squad spots they can fill in addition to their 53-man roster. A player must clear waivers to be placed on practice squad.
** Any player placed on injured reserve prior to Saturday at 4 p.m. EST is done for the season.
** If a player makes the 53-man roster, and then is placed on injured reserve, he is eligible to be one of two players that returns in eight weeks. An example would be cornerback Cre'von LeBlanc. The Eagles could keep him initially on the roster, then place him on injured reserve, hoping he would return in eight weeks.
** The initial roster is likely not going to be the one the team takes into Week 1. Look for the Eagles to cut players this weekend that could be back in a few days once roster spots open up from players placed on injured reserve.
** Any veteran on the roster in Week 1 gets their salary guaranteed for the entire season. That could impact whether veterans like Stefen Wisniewski make the team.
** If the Eagles release either Andrew Sendejo or L.J. Fort they will likely get a fourth-round compensatory pick

— Ian Rapoport (@RapSheet) August 30, 2019The Eagles cutting Scandrick is not surprising. There is a very good chance he is back for either Week 1 or 2, unless the Eagles find a cornerback on the waiver wire the like better.
