DeSean Jackson has a broken finger, per report

Eagles wide receiver DeSean Jackson reportedly suffered a broken left ring finger on Tuesday during practice, according to an NFL Network report.

The good news is that, according to the report, Jackson is not expected to miss any time and should be ready for Week 1. ESPN is reporting, however, that Jackson could be dealing with this injury for three-to-four weeks -- which would not only lead into season opener, but into Week 2 if true.

The Eagles open their season in just 12 days at home against the Washington Redskins.

Jackson has had a stellar training camp for the Eagles, looking every bit ready to play a big role on the offense and be the deep threat they have been searching for ever since he was released after the 2013 season.

"I've seen a guy that still loves football. He loves to practice, be around the guys," head coach Doug Pederson said recently about the difference between Jackson now and back in 2012. "I think he's smarter from the standpoint of execution on the field. He sees things fast and quick, and he practices.  I think in his past he would pull himself out of practice from time to time or whatever it might be, but he doesn't do that. He wants to practice. And he wants to be with his guys. And that's something, I think, that comes with maturity and with experience, and of course being on a new football team causes him to want to be that way. He's been professional about it his whole time here."

The Eagles were hoping to get their first real look at what a more mature, but still dangerous, Jackson can bring to the offense in Week 1. That might still be the case, but it sounds like there is a chance he won't be at 100% in Week 1.
