Eagles right tackle Lane Johnson, linebacker Nate Gerry and offensive tackle Jordan Mailata have been placed on the NFL COVID-19 list, the team announced on Tuesday.
The trio of players landing on the list means does not necessarily mean they have tested positive for COVID-19, although Johnson has confirmed in a statement that he has tested positive. Landing on the list means a player has either tested positive or has been in close contact with someone who did test positive.
Johnson tweeted the following statement:
— Lane Johnson (@LaneJohnson65) July 29, 2020Johnson, Gerry and Mailata are the first known Eagles player to land on the NFL COVID-19 list.
The Eagles veterans reported to the NovaCare Complex this week for the start of training camp, where they were tested for COVID-19 upon arrival.
To return to the NovaCare they will have to go through the NFL COVID-19 testing protocols.
News of Johnson landing on the list was first reported by NFL Network's Mike Garafolo.
More details to come.
