Cuts have started around the league as teams begin to trim their rosters down from 90 players to 53.
While the Eagles are busy making cuts of their own they will also be keeping an eye on the waiver wire, especially for linebackers, tight ends and safeties.
Here are six players cut on Friday that could be on the Eagles' radar:
Brandon Marshall, ILB, Raiders: The Eagles are extremely banged up at linebacker right now, with Nigel Bradham missing the entire preseason and Kamu Grugier-Hill expected to miss the first month of the season. Marshall's play has taken a steep decline over the last two seasons, mostly due to injuries, as he totaled just 42 tackles and no sacks last season in 11 games. Still, he finished with 106 tackles in 2017, with three sacks and four pass deflections. There is an argument to be made he is better than Zach Brown, who has been average at best since joining the Eagles.
Su'a Cravens, S, Broncos: Howie Roseman has been extremely active at the safety position this offseason, shuffling between a mixture of veterans trying to find a solid backup that can also play special teams. Cravens has had knee issues in his career, but is only 24-years old and totaled 18 tackles in only five games last season. Cravens flashed some serious potential his rookie season, finishing with 34 tackles, one sack, five passes defended and an interception. He has the ability to play both deep safety and come up to the line of scrimmage in a linebacker role, something the Eagles crave in their safeties.
Pharoh Cooper, WR, Cardinals: The Eagles wouldn't have much interest in Cooper as a wide receiver, but they could have interest in him as a kick returner. Cooper has returned 61 kicks in his career, averaging 25.1 yards with one touchdown. The team doesn't have many great options at kick returner currently. Miles Sanders might be their best choice, but he is expected to play a large role on offense.
Luke Willson, TE, Raiders: The team is kind of thin at tight end after waiving Richard Rodgers on Friday, leaving them with Zach Ertz and Dallas Goedert for Week 1. It is likely they keep Joshua Perkins, but he didn't exactly shine in his limited playing time last season. Wilson has never put up great numbers in his career, but is a solid receiving option at tight end, averaging 11.9 yards-per-reception over his six year career on 102 catches.
Teez Tabor, CB, Lions: The Eagles had a ton of interest in Tabor prior to 2017 draft and he was viewed as a potential option for them with their first-round pick. His career in Detroit has not worked out, but with Ronald Darby, Jalen Mills and Cre'von LeBlanc set to hit free agency next offseason, the Eagles could bring in Tabor to coach up and develop for 2020, while also having him as a backup this season.
Paxton Lynch, QB, Seahawks: The Eagles are have one of the best coaching staffs in the NFL when it comes to coaching quarterbacks. Lynch's career has been a disappointment so far, but there is no denying he has plenty of physical tools to work with, standing 6-foot-7 with a rocket arm and great athleticism. Making room for Lynch would be tough on the 53-man roster, but with only one quarterback under contract beyond this season, the Eagles might want to develop him to be their long-term backup.
Plus, signing Lynch would give everyone a great chance to retweet this:
