In what is the first serious injury for the Eagles in training camp, linebacker Kamu Grugier-Hill was carted off of the field on Saturday morning with a lower-body injury.

According to an NFL Network report, the injury has been diagnosed as a Grade 3 MCL sprain, an injury that will cause Grugier-Hill to miss time, but could have him back on the field early on in the regular season.

The injury appeared to happen during a live-hitting session at the end of a running play. Grugier-Hill went down after tackling running back Jordan Howard, and although he want to the ground because of the tackle, he immediately grabbed his left knee. Trainers came out, and Grugier-Hill walked to the sideline with trainers before being carted to the medical tent. From there he walked into the locker room.

The loss of Grugier-Hill for any amount of time during the regular should would be a serious blow to the Eagles' defense. Grugier-Hill has been one of the team's top playmakers during training camp on either side of the ball and was set to be an every-down linebacker for the Eagles. With Grugier-Hill now sidelined, the Eagles are without their top two linebackers. Although Nigel Bradham is expected to be ready for Week 1, the Eagles will now go through training camp without Bradham and Gurgier-Hill taking any snaps together with the first-team defense.
