Mike Scott gets in fight with Eagles fans at game

Sixers forward Mike Scott made it very clear on Twitter prior to the Eagles' game on Sunday against the Washington Redskins that he was ready to deal with any Eagles fan that had an issue with him tailgating in a Washington uniform.

Although Scott, a Washington fan growing up, certainly seemed to mean it in a mostly friendly way, that isn't how things played out.

Seen in the video below, Scott -- wearing a throwback Sean Taylor Washington jersey -- got into it with some fans at a tailgate on Sunday. The fight, which saw Scott swinging at fans, had to be broken up.

@mikescott on behalf of @Eagles fans and Philadelphia we don't condone this bullshit. You know exactly why this happened and it wasn't because of your jersey pic.twitter.com/p5Wg0NXevZ

The Sixers have issued a statement about the incident, saying they are "in the process of gathering more information."

As for Scott, he seemed to simply go about his day after the fight, tweeting a picture of himself enjoying the game in the stadium with an Eagles' fan.

Scott posted a picture of himself wearing the Taylor jersey earlier in the day:

94WIP's Howard Eskin tweeted about the incident and former Eagle Chris Long disagreed.

Howard, this is a bad take. Mike's embraced philly. fans don't own his rights to fandom.

What will happen to Scott remains to be seen. It is certainly possible he will be disciplined by either the NBA or the Sixers, who begin training camp later this month.
