The Sixers have traded James Ennis to the Orlando Magic for a second-round pick, according to an ESPN report.
Ennis is averaging 5.8 points this season on 44% shooting from the field and 34% shooting from three in 15.8 minutes. The Sixers acquired Ennis, who has appeared in 67 games with the team, last year in a move with the Orlando Magic. Moving on from Ennis became possible for the Sixers after acquiring both Glenn Robinson III and Alec Burks earlier in the day in a trade with the Golden State Warriors.
In addition to trading Ennis, the Sixers have also reportedly cut guard Trey Burke.
Landing a second-round pick back in the deal offsets at least one of the three second-round picks the Sixers sent to the Warriors.
Robinson, 6-foot-6, 222 pounds, is averaging 12.9 points, 4.7 rebounds and 1.8 assists in 31/6 minutes this season. He is shooting an impressive 40% from three on 3.5 attempts, and is a career 37% shooter from deep.
Burks, 6-foot-6, 241 pounds, is averaging 16.1 points, 4.7 rebounds and 3.1 assists in 29 minutes this season. He is shooting 37% from three on 4.7 attempts per game and is a career 37% three-point shooter.
Both Burks and Robinson are set to become free agents at the end of the season.
