The Eagles are going to try to get their first winning streak of the season going in Week 5 when they play the New York Jets. That task might be a little tougher than expected.
According to an ESPN report, the Jets are "hopeful" that quarterback Sam Darnold will be fully recovered from the mono that has cost him the last two games and will able to play next Sunday against the Eagles.
Jets QB Sam Darnold still has hurdles to clear to play week 5. He says he will have more tests Monday on his spleen. If it's not as enlarged, he can begin practicing and working out. His cardio has been limited to walking & stationary bike. Not a lock but hopeful after mono bout
— Chris Mortensen (@mortreport) September 29, 2019The Jets have been a disaster without Darnold on the field. Although they are 0-3, they lost in Week 1 by one point with Darnold under center -- they have been outscored 53-17 the last two weeks without Darnold. Although this is a game the Eagles should wi either way, not having to face Darnold would be ideal, considering how banged up the Eagles' secondary is.
The Eagles will enter next Sunday at 2-2 coming off of their big win in Green Bay over the Packers. They will head on the road for three-straight after their game against the Jets, traveling to Minnesota, Dallas and Buffalo.
Going on the road is never easy, let alone going for three straight weeks -- making it all that more important that they beat the Jets next Sunday and start the road trip at 3-2.
