Sixers (finally) sign a guard

The Sixers streak of only adding centers and forwards to their roster is over.

According to The Athletic, the Sixers have signed guard Raul Neto to a one-year, fully guaranteed veteran's minimum contract, making him the first guard they have signed so far in free agency.

Neto, 6-foot-1, 179 pounds, has been in the NBA for four seasons, all of which have been with the Utah Jazz. He averages 4.8 points and 1.9 assits in 14.2 minutes per game in his career while shooting 37% on 1.5 threes per game. He has started 54 of his 199 career games, but has seen his playing time go down each season. After appearing in 81 games his rookie season, with 53 starts, he played in just 37 games last season.

Neto should see an increased role with the Sixers, who are short on guards, especially after losing TJ McConnell to the Indiana Pacers.

With Neto in the fold, the Sixers' bench currently looks like this: Neto, point guard Shake Milton, guard/forward Zhaire Smith, forward Matisse Thybulle, forward Mike Scott, forward James Ennis, center Kyle O'Quinn and center Jonah Bolden.
