Like many NFL teams, the Eagles have spent lots of time and money revamping their practice facility and enforcing guidlines for all members of the organization to limit the spread of COVID-19. All these precautions are necessary, yet they come at a cost.

"That does make it a little bit weird," said Jason Kelce on Wednesday morning. "Unfortunately, it does take away the greatest part about being on a team: enjoying your teammates"

Kelce joined Angelo Cataldi and the Morning Show to talk about the positives and negatives of training camp:

"To get back to running the same plays with the same coaches and seeing a lot of familiar faces has been some sense of normalcy. But the whole social distancing, wearing masks, all the testing, it's been a little bit harder to form personal relationships with guys, especially new guys and rookies because we are all trying to be safe. Even though that is one draw back, we are all just trying to do what we are supposed to do, do what all the doctors and scientist are telling us to do to try and facilitate the safest environment possible."

Kelce also talked about the state of the 2020 NFL season. The thre-time Pro Bowler felt optimistic about the upcoming year despite some college conferences cancelling and postponing their seasons:

"We are doing what we can to try and make sure that we have a season. If guys are safe and healthy and we don't have a large number of cases, I feel pretty good that we will still have a season."

A total of 66 players across the NFL chose to opt out this season due to coronavirus concerns. Only one Eagles player, Marquis Goodwin, took the option. It's something every player thought about this offseason, including Kelce:

"You consider everything, but there really wasn’t a consideration about the opt out. For where Kylie and I are at, where our families were, we feel pretty good about the things the Eagles and NFL are doing in trying to facilitate at least somewhat of a safe environment. I think if we had some of the pre-existing health conditions that some of the other players have mentioned, it might be a different conversation."
