The Eagles do not have a ton of cap space to work with, especially not going forward, but Ray Didinger says there is one free-agent that he would be interested in if he was Howie Roseman and that's running back Carlos Hyde.
"He would kind of provide for you a little bit of what LeGarrette Blount did a couple years ago," Didinger told DeCamara and Ritchie on Wednesday afternoon, adding, "I don't think he'd cost you a ton of money."
Hyde, 29, has bounced around from team-to-team after spending his first four seasons with the 49ers.
Hyde, a second-round pick in 2014 out of Ohio State, totaled over 900 yards rushing in 2015 and 2016 and last season with the Texans rushed for 1,070 yards and six touchdowns. At 6'0", 230-pounds, like Didinger alluded to, Hyde would provide the Eagles with a tough, between-the-tackles type runner to compliment do-it-all back Miles Sanders and scat back Boston Scott.
Last season, Hyde had a base salary of $1.4 million and a capt hit of $1.9 million.
