Joe DeCamara thinks the voters are wrong when it comes to the G.O.A.T. of Broad Street rankings. This morning, SportsRadio94WIP released the No. 14-12 ranked athletes in Philadelphia since 1970, which included Charles Barkley at No. 12.

"Charles Barkley comes in at 12. To be clear, that's about right," said DeCamara on the Midday Show on Wednesday. "Here's my problem, and it didn't surprise me and I don't think it's right: people have obviously selected Allen Iverson as a greater Philadelphia athlete than Charles Barkley."
Iverson has yet to be featured in the G.O.A.T. of Broad Street rankings, but is expected to make an appearance on the list. For DeCamara, Iverson should have been listed before Barkley.
"I had Barkley ahead of Iverson. I believe Charles Barkley was a great Philadelphia athlete. I saw them both for their entire career, and I feel pretty strong… Tell me who Iverson and the Sixers had to get through in 2001 playoffs that in anyway compares to having to get through (Larry) Bird and the Celtics, Isiah (Thomas) and the Pistons, (Michael) Jordan and the Bulls."
Both Jon Ritchie and James Seltzer agreed with DeCamara, as they had Barkley ranked ahead of Iverson on their lists. The Midday Show had previously voiced concern about overrating players in the voting processes because of emotional attachment, like Brian Dawkins. DeCamara thinks we may be seeing that with Iverson.
"It's almost like who is going to be school president in high school; it's a popularity contest. It wouldn't shock me if Iverson was in the top 6 or 7 in the votes. He shouldn't be."
