With 6:59 to go in the first quarter of Carson Wentz's first ever playoff game Sunday against the Seahawks, the Eagles' quarterback took a vicious hit from Seattle defensive end Jadeveon Clowney. Clowney made helmet-to-helmet contact with Wentz, who then slammed his head into the ground, knocking him out of the game with a concussion.
Here's the hit from Clowney that knocked Wentz out of the game. Wentz is questionable to return. -- pic.twitter.com/Zp4RgGPsoD

There was no flag on the play.
The Eagles went on to lose the game 17-9 without their franchise QB, but the internet is ablaze over the hit.
Jason Peters, a friend of Clowney's, called the hit dirty.
"I told him that's a dirty play." Jason Peters had words for Jadeveon Clowney after hit that knocked out Wentz. pic.twitter.com/xUPFnUOVY7
— Tim McManus (@Tim_McManus) January 6, 2020Zach Ertz called the hit late.
Zach Ertz thought the shot on #Eagles QB Carson Wentz was late. I thought Clowney hit was cheap @SportsRadioWIP pic.twitter.com/KtfMAd3EbJ
— Howard Eskin (@howardeskin) January 6, 2020Dan Orlovsky and Danny Kanell are arguing over if Wentz is injury prone or not.
FairHe did play a full season this yearHe took a hit to his head on a play that can be easily flagged. That's not injury prone. That's not always something with him. He took a hit to his head by a 280lb dude
— Dan Orlovsky (@danorlovsky7) January 6, 2020Chris Long went after Kannell, as well.
His brain unavoidably collided w his skull on a dirty hit... with no concussion history I'm aware of. Yeah... Had it been a pulled hamstring or a slipped disc, you could justifiably identify a pattern and your point wouldn't be so dogshit. https://t.co/cK7qAglKrx
— Chris Long (@JOEL9ONE) January 6, 2020Seth Joyner is INTERNET YELLING.
THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS INCIDENTAL HELMET TO HELMET CONTACT! IF THAT WAS THE CASE, LESS HELMET TO HELMET PERSONAL FOULS WOULD BE CALLED!! BS EXPLANATION AND HE SHOULD BE REPRIMANDED BY THE @NFL FOR OUTWARDLY EXPRESSING HIS INCORRECT INTERPRETATION OF THE RULES HE SHOULD KNOW!!
— Seth Joyner (@sethjoyner) January 6, 2020Even Skip Bayless didn't understand.
I'm still trying to figure out how that Clowney helmet-to-helmet hit on Wentz as he was going to the ground didn't draw a flag. Clowney would've been ejected in college football. He got away with cheap-shotting Wentz out of the game.
— Skip Bayless (@RealSkipBayless) January 5, 2020Michele Tafoya interviewed Clowney after the game, but did not ask him about his hit on Wentz and the internet noticed.
The airbrushing of Clowney's hit on Wentz out of the game narrative by NBC is truly remarkable. Clowney is interviewed on the field postgame & isn't even asked about his hit that knocked the other team's best player out of the game. How?! SMH #Eagles #Seahawks
— Pat Leonard (@PLeonardNYDN) January 6, 2020As for Clowney, he called Philly fans the "worst in the world" after the game.
