McNabb says he's a Hall of Famer, Eagles fans say no

Donovan McNabb thinks Donovan McNabb is a Hall of Famer. Go figure.

"I'm not hesitating on that. I am a Hall of Famer," McNabb said on a TMZ Sports TV Show. "My numbers speak for themselves. My numbers are better than Troy Aikman."

He wasn't done.

"When they look at my numbers, yeah, but then they always want to add other stuff into it. 'Was he an All-Pro? Was he this? How many Super Bowl opportunities?'" McNabb said via TMZ.com. "But, people don't realize how hard it is to get to the NFC Championship and to get there five times, and then make it to a Super Bowl? It's tough."

Does Donovan McNabb belong in the Pro Football Hall of Fame?

OK, let's go to the tape.

In 13 NFL seasons, McNabb threw for 37,276 yards, 234 touchdowns, 117 interceptions, completing 59.0-percent of his passes. McNabb also rushed for over 3,400 yards and 29 scores. McNabb also reached six Pro Bowls, but was just 9-7 in career playoff games, completing 59.1-percent of his passes. McNabb, as he likes to point out, reached the NFC Title game five times, but won just once.

In 12 NFL seasons, Aikman threw for 32,942 yards, 165 touchdowns, 141 interceptions, completing 61.5-percent of his passes. Aikman, however, won three Super Bowls, was a Super Bowl MVP, and a six-time Pro Bowl. Aikman was 11-4 in career playoff games, completing 63.7-percent of his passes.

Aikman was elected to the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2006.

McNabb was recently in the news for his comments about current Eagles franchise quarterback Carson Wentz

"I think in the next two years or so (Wentz) has to find a way to get out of the second round of the playoffs," McNabb said. "What Nick Foles was able to do taking them to the Super Bowl ... proved that some people can get into that offense and be very successful. (Wentz) hasn't been healthy, he hasn't really proven to me besides the year before he got hurt and the first year of really (being) an MVP candidate. He needs to get back to that mode. I think personally if he can't get out of the second round in the next two, maybe three years. Really two years to be honest with you, if they can't get out of the second round, they should look to possibly draft another quarterback because you just don't know about his durability."
