Eagles wide receiver Alshon Jeffery is among the most likely NFL players to be traded during this week's virtual draft, according to insider Peter King
King lists Jeffery the sixth most likely player to be traded during the draft in his latest column behind Trent Williams, Yannick Ngakoue, Joe Thuney, Andy Dalton, and Leonard Fournette.
Furthermore, King writes, "Maybe Eagles GM Howie Roseman will find a taker for Alshon Jeffery and his hefty salary (maybe by paying a good chunk of it), or maybe the Eagles have to play with Jeffery and his injury bug for one more season; when he’s on the field he’s effective if not a star."
According to ESPN's Field Yates, Roseman and the Eagles have the third most cap space in the NFL entering the draft, with just over $27 million.

Jeffery, 30, has been plagued by injuries over his last couple of seasons missing nine of 32 games. Jeffery has not recorded over 65 catches or 850 yards in a season since 2014. Jeffery won't be easy to move as he has a 2020 cap hit of over $15 million and in 2021 that number goes up to $18.5 million, plus a base salary of $12.75 million.

Speaking on the team's website in March, Roseman sounded like a general manager resigned to the fact he will need to keep Jeffery on his roster this season.

“I think that when we talk about Alshon, somethings that people don’t get see that we get to see on a daily basis is this guy wants to win World Championships in Philly," Roseman said. "He has told me on multiple occasions including recently how much he wants to win for our fans and for our city. He has had those same conversations with other people in the building. It is important for him to be a Philadelphia Eagle and to work hard. He understands where people feel about him right now, and he is not feeling sorry for himself, he is working to try to remind people what kind of player that he has been for our football team. The priority for Alshon is to get healthy. He needs to get healthy. I think that just talking to our PR staff and hearing the narrative of Alshon, Alshon is a good player. I think we lose sight of that a little bit. The things that he can do when healthy. The toughness that he has shown to try to bring a championship to our city, which he helped obviously.”

King also notes that Alabama WR Henry Ruggs, who is apparently Ray Didinger's highest graded draft WR prospect literally ever, is beloved by the Eagles.
"But the thing I heard about the Eagles in the last few days is, Henry Ruggs will not get past 21," writes King.
